Can It Be?

Our baby is 4 months old!? She’ll be dating and asking to borrow the hybrid’s keys any down now, it seems!

I’ve posted a new gallery to our Flickr.com collection of Sara photos. You can find the growing collection of Sara (4-5 Months) photos, with more photos to be added soon. We actually do still have photos to add to some of the older galleries, so if you’re a Sara photo fan the easiest way to keep up-to-date is probably just to directly bookmark the Sara Elise Photo Collection on Flickr.com. That way you don’t miss “old” photos as they get posted, such as the two photos from within days’ of Sara’s birth that I just added this morning (Thank you, Thomas!)

I’m not looking forward to taking Sara in for her 4-month vaccinations this afternoon, but I am looking forward to hearing just how much she’s growth in length and weight in the past two months. There’s something really gratifying about knowing that 99.9% of her physical growth up until this point has been a direct result of me and the milk my body naturally produces to nourish and sustain her. The human body — ’tis a wonderful thing!

Oh, and breast pumps, rock, too — Daddy (Justin) got to give Sara two 4 oz. bottles of milk this evening, thanks to the breast pump and milk I’d expressed back around the 3rd of July. This evening, I felt like having a bit of a break from nursing throughout the night (even though it means I’ve got my alarm clock set to pump every 2-3 hours so my supply doesn’t take a hit), and even though I don’t maintain a huge supply of frozen milk it’s just enough to let Justin step in and feed her if I’m away. I totally understand the concept of a wet nurse, now, since modern electric breast pumps (and reliable refrigeration) are fairly recent inventions.

So, there you go, GeekHabitat.com’s turned into all boobies all the time, at least for as long as I’m nursing a wee one. Hey, geeks have offspring too, after all!
