Justin and I set out for Sara’s 4-month checkup in the midst of a nasty brewing thunderstorm, and got back home just as the heavens opened up. Sara did wonderfully, as usual, crying for just a few brief moments after receiving her shots until I picked her up to console her.

She’s a petite little gal, tracking at the 15^th percentile in height, weight and head circumference which is just dandy — symmetry and proportion are the name of the game at this stage. Since her 2 month checkup, Sara has gained 3 lb. 2 oz., grown 2 inches in length, and added 1 inch in head circumference.

4 Month Stats

• Weight: 11 lb. 14 oz.
• Height: 23 in.
• Head Circumference: 15 1/2 in.

UPDATE (9:30 PM) This round of vaccinations must pack a bigger “kick”. Sara is a decidedly less happy baby this evening… poor gal! Thankfully, she keeps dozing off in between short waves of being upset and uncomfortable.

Birth (37.5 Weeks):

• Weight: 6 lb. 6.5 oz. (5 lb. 14 oz. at discharge)
• Length: 18.5 in.
• Head Circumference: Unknown

2 Weeks:

• Weight: 6 lb. 12 oz.
• Length: 19 1/4 in.
• Head Circumference: 13 1/4 in.

2 Months:

• Weight: 8 lb. 12 oz. (25%)
• Length: 21 in. (25%)
• Head Circumference: 14 1/2 in.
