Five Months Old!
Dear Sara,
Welcome to your fifth month here on Planet Earth! You still have more than four months to go before you’ll have been living on the outside longer than you lived inside my tummy before you were born.
You are still quite young, but you are growing up a little bit every single day.
You now love to “talk”, squeal and shout. You carry on elaborate, highly entertaining conversations with your dad and I, as well as with our cats and your favorite stuffed animals or mobiles.
You love to stand up (with help) so you can see the world from a new perspective. You don’t try to walk yet, of course; you are quite content to stand up for long periods of time if someone is there to spot you and help you balance.
You absolutely love bath time and we promise to take you swimming soon. Grandma Blackburn found some sunscreen that should be safe for you to wear, and I found you a swim diaper that should fit.
Your legs are finally long enough for you to enjoy your exersaucer. You like playing with all the toys on the ’saucer, and Mom and Dad seem to love snapping photos of you in it.
You are getting chubbier every day, and that makes Mommy very happy because 99% of your nutrition comes from her milk. Soon, you’ll start eating some solid foods in addition to that milk, and you’ll grow even more! Enjoy this time in your life — no calorie counting for you, li’l one!
You are so freakin’ adorable and beautiful! Your dad and I are geeks, as you will come to learn quite quickly, but we are convinced all the best of us is in you. You just keep getting cuter and more gorgeous… pretty soon, you’re going to need a Surgeon General’s Warning for extreme cuteness!
We love you, Sara. Happy 5-month birthday, darlin’!

So true! Can’t wait to get the audio of her latest “conversation” online. She is quite the talker!
