Miss Sara Has a ‘tude

Sara is definitely entering a new phase of development, and what’s developing is her independence and attitude (’tude, for short.)  Oh, she’s still gorgeous and lovable and wonderful, but there’s this other side to her that we’re starting to experience. She says something like “Naw!” forcefully while pushing the bottle away when she’s finished, and she’s strong enough to knock it out of your hands if you don’t have a great grip on the thing! She also has tantrums now when she doesn’t want to go to sleep… not the little baby fussy bit, but full-on, wow-she-really-means-business tantrums (which thankfully wear her out and mean when she does go down, it’s usually for a good while.)  She also lets you know when she’s bored or, alternately, wants a different toy(s) than what you’ve provided in reaching/lunging distance.

Yes, indeed, there’s a developing 8-month-and-counting human brain in there that’s developing all the requisite skills and emotions that make us human. Wheee!  (It’s especially fun when you have a raging sinus headache…)

I still need to go back and add more to her 8-month-birthday post from November 15th.  It’s on my mental “to do” list…

One thing (and only one) that I did get done last night/today was upload a bunch of new photos, including ones from Thanksgiving, to our Flickr account so if you haven’t checked that out, do so. Remember that most of our pics are shared only with friends and family, so if you can’t see m/any pictures, drop me an email here or on Flickr and let me know who you are and I’ll add you to the permission list.

T’care, all!
