Baby Nathan is HOME!
Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s all packed into one wonderful email — Baby Nathan is HOME! How freakin’ awesome is that? As you may recall, earlier on his prognosis was not good and, at best, he wasn’t expected to come home until Spring 2008.

Subject: Welcome Home Nathan!!!
I’ve attached two pictures. One was taken the night before coming home and the other is with David (Brother) at home.
The emotions were swelling as I recounted all the events that lead to his coming home.
Twice we were asked to spend time by his bedside because he was not doing well and now we have brought him home.
Michelle and I will later put together a summary with photos that tell the story with a little bit more detail (when we’re able to sleep more than 3 hours at a time :-). He is having quite a time in adjusting from hospital life to home life. Not exciting enough here even though David does his best to remedy that problem :-). For us the difficulty will soon wear off as we adjust to not having the constant support of the nurses.
Again, please continue to support us with your prayers and positive thoughts as Nathan’s road to recovery is long and still has some uncertainties.
Over the next year and especially over the next couple of months we have several specialist appointments and visits from home care nurses, physical therapists, etc.
None the less, he is well on his way.
Thanks again to everyone for your love and support during this time and I’m sure into the future.

Is it just me or do they both look *just* like Joel?

Hehe… they are definitely spitting images of their daddy. I have a feeling they’ll grow up to be just as helpful, kind and hard-working, too!
P.S. Nathan’s chillin’ in Miss Sara’s former swing — she stopping being happy/comfortable in it as she got bigger, so we offered it to Joel for Nathan just before Thanksgiving. It’s so cool to see Baby Nathan enjoying the swing, now.
