QotD: Tears of Joy

Another post stolen from my geekgal.vox.com blog and reposted here –

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?
Submitted by Maraschino.

Every.single.day, since Sara came into our lives. I am not kidding. The kid cracks me up. Ok, I’m lying, the first month or so might have been more hormone and sleep-deprivation-induced tears than those induced by laughter, but after that? Totally a daily occurrence… she’s got attitude, spunk, immeasurable curiosity and elation over the simplest things, and if that doesn’t get a laugh out of me, she gets physical… c’mon, who wouldn’t smile and laugh with abandon with this mug mashed against your face and a slobbery wet hand hugging you closer to her?

And, one day early, but on topic –

Happy First Birthday! (March 15, 2008)

Hi, I’m a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl who was born on April 3, 2007. I used to notice you on Baby Center. I just wanted to tell you that your daughter Sara is adorable and has always reminded me so much of my granddaughter Lexie! I hope you don’t mind me saying so.

Beautiful photos … of a beautiful baby. Hmm … at what age does she become a toddler? (I think you have another year yet?) :-)

Thank you! We already refer to her as a toddler since she toddles around (not yet walking unassisted, but close.) I don’t know if that’s really the definition in theory, but it seems to be the one used in practice.

Happy upcoming birthday to your granddaughter Lexie! I am sure she is absolutely adorable if she’s anything like Sara, and she probably lights up your life as much as Sara lights up ours! I hope Lexie has an awesome birthday on April 3rd! Sara’s estimated due date was actually April 1, she just arrived a bit early, so Lexie and her are probably VERY similar in age/development.
