Santa Saturation
Santa’s Village at the North Pole has been overrun with tourists. {ASIDE: Have you ever noticed how similar “tourist” and “terrorist” sound? I’m just sayin’….}
It’s a little freaky to hear that Santa’s churning out DVD’s about himself. What’s next, a music video? (I know, I’m sure it’s been done. What hasn’t been done?)
Speaking of Santa, before our Kerrville flight the other day, we were in our rental Cessna Skyhawk listening to the ATIS (Automated Terminal Information Service, which provides weather, runway and other airport data for pilots). Over our headsets we listened to the morose computer-generated voice that reads ATIS information at San Antonio International Airport:
Landing & Departing Runway 30 Left…”
You never hear any pranks or funny things (other than the comically artifical voice that’s delivering the information) over the ATIS, so it made us wait for the entire announcement to replay just to ensure we hadn’t both imagined it.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
