Who Slimed Our Vehicles?

My brother and I left our folks’ house after visiting with them this evening to a genuine “WTF?” moment as we caught sight of both of our vehicles. Thomas’ Sonic Blue Mustang looked like a bucket of especially watery red slime had been thrown over it repeatedly, and mine looked like it’d been in a wind tunnel test involving mud with a high water content. With the Ford Escape Hybrid, I at least have a rear window washer and wiper so I didn’t have to resort to washing it off before I could leave the folks’ driveway.

On the way home, I pulled into the local self-serve carwash to hose the grit and grime off my vehicle. Here’s what she looked like before.

I assumed it was West Texas dirt, which occasionally gets all munged up in a westward-arriving front only to get deposited all over San Antonio. This time, however, it appears to be ash from fires burning in Central Mexico. Oh, yay… that explains my allergies, though.

The activity at the carwash after 10 PM tonight, due to the freak grime deposits on everyone’s vehicles, was at a peak–cars waiting in line for the drive-thru, etc.

Added Later: Hehehe–> Muddy rain means big business at S.A. car washes
