Dammit!

* Sigh. The tire we had patched last saturday (and left a camping trip early TO patch)? It’s FLAT.

* There’s a RAZOR BLADE in my tire. I am beginning to think I need to check behind and under my car anytime I park it. F*ck

* I drive a hybrid and it’s stuff like this that makes me get sooo paranoid. I have had a DOZEN tire punctures but this is the 1st RZR BLADE:(

* I am sick of the routes I have to drive (constant construction) my extra hard rubber tires (Low Rolling Resistance) which seem puncture-prone

* now I’m starting to think creeps in my parents ‘hood r throwing crap for me to run over when I visit them, her car was broken into recently

* I should post a GPS track of the two routes I drive, because apparently they result in at least one tire puncture every 6 months or less.

* I swear I dodge every last thing I see and I drive w/my fogs @ night to see debris, and I still get punctures <6 mos. 12 punctures in 6 mos.

* Apparently, completely avoid Blanco->Huebner->Fredericksburg->Prue or Babcock, and the reverse via Hwy1604.

    The thought had crossed my mind, but I have a hard time ascribing that level of forethought and coordination to them. Our good neighbors on the other side of them can attest to their, uhm, peculiar habits. That said, I am going to start shining my Auto LED flashlight around the perimeter of my vehicle at night to check for new “debris” before backing out at home or when visiting my folks (where Mom’s car was broken into not long ago, with her Garmin nuvi being stolen, as well as some CDs.)

    Justin’s a saint and took the hybrid to Discount Tire this afternoon and got us four new tires to replace the now too-frequently patched stock tires. On the way home, what did he see in the roadway we both travel almost daily? A bolt in the center of the lane… so some of this is just the fact that San Antonio clearly needs to step up its street sweeping and courtesy patrol work to keep our roadways free of debris. Makes me freak out about road cycling, more, too… puncture a tire on a road bike and you become fresh meat. :(
