Other ACL Journals
I figured since I’m gearing up for the next phase of my experience, namely surgery, it’s time to share some of the other ACL journals I’ve read:
- Bob’s Knee Board is the place to visit to communicate with fellow knee pain, pre- and post-op folks. It’s an invaluable resource!
- Ron McClellan tore the ACL in both knees and has had multiple surgeries due to re-injury. My favorite post in his journal…
- Marty Head tore his ACL while wakeboarding in Dallas, TX. I originally shared his journal in my “What’s Going to Happen” entry earlier this month.
- Rob’s Knee Page includes x-rays and animations of normal and ACL-deficient knees.
- Michael Davis provides a counter-argument to having ACL reconstruction surgery, based on his experience after 3 separate surgeries on one of his 2 torn ACL’s (both knees).
- Bob Willmot documented his bilateral ACL injury (both knees, but in this case he injured them simultaneously, while snow skiing!) on a journal aptly-named “Bob’s Bum Knees.”
- Jim Eisenmann documented his ACL injury, reconstruction and rehab on “Jimbo’s ACL Journal”.
- Janet Bray takes things a step (hehe) further and builds a community website around her and others’ ACL experiences.
- Jay Larson and I are just 7 days apart on our ACL surgeries, so I’ll be watching his journal like a hawk, as well.
The greatest truism of the ‘Net is this: You are not alone! There are no doubt many more ACL journals I’ve not yet met in my wanderings. And of course with people getting injured all the time, new journals will sprout up in the future, as well.
I may cringe whenever I hear someone say, “Break a leg!” now!

Thanks for the journal information.
I have another, more recent journal that you can add to you list. It is at ACL Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
Best wishes!
