Quickie
Should’ve been in bed a half hour ago, but got up to check a post on one of my sites (WildTexas.com), and got sidetracked. Then got further sidetracked into blog-reading, and then said, “What the hell…” and decided to post in my own blog, too.
So, the “quickie” is:
Justin’s endoscopy on Friday morning went well. He was only slightly loopy afterwards and was actually much more talkative than he was after his wisdom tooth extraction last year. However, the joke was on him. About 3 hours later, he hardly remembered a word he’d said to the doctor, me or his Mom on the phone as I drove him home. We spent much of the morning with me helping him “fill in the blanks” of the doctor visit and drive home. The funniest part was when we tried to schedule a follow-up procedure for him at the doctor’s office, and the receptionist asked him if “the 26th at 8 AM” would be OK. He looked at a calendar on the reception counter and pointed to the 26th of JUNE for about five seconds until I grasped his hand gently and pointed it over to the 26th of JULY. It took him several more seconds and a “You want to look at JULY” reminder from me before he was tracking properly again. Man, that general anaesthesia messes the brain up!
I’ll save the endoscopy results post for later. We’re still in a sort of “limbo land” as his pain and suffering has not eased. The good news is they found no ulcers or severe inflammation. No biopsies or anything were needed.
