Home

It’s good to be home again. We missed our three cats (furry children) terribly, and they missed us equally, judging by their meowing, licking, kneeding, head-butting and such since we returned late last night. No matter how enjoyable the trip, there’s something wonderful about returning to the comfortable, familiar environs of HOME!

I’ll have much to write in the coming days. In the meantime, I’m going to relax (in between loads of laundry) and deliver souvenirs later today. Apparently, we bought a lot of souvenirs because our one checked bag topped the scales at 58 pounds (8 pounds over the guidelines), incurring a $25 fee (and a TSA screening, at some point.) The check-in agent asked if we wanted to remove 8 lbs. of items from the bag to avoid the charge, but before we answered I think he noticed our dual camera shoulder-bags (loaded to the gills with camera, lenses, flash, memory cards and lens filters), my Tom Bihn laptop backpack and Justin’s small duffel bag. There wasn’t a way in the world either of us could carry another 4-8 lbs., so the $25 was a small price to pay to bring our goodies (and all our dirty clothes from an 8-night/9-day stay) back home. :)

P.S. Comments are now re-enabled. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed not having to worry about spam here for the duration of our trip! It was certainly a Godsend, given how much spam other channels accumulated (U.S. Postal Service mail: loads of junk mail, plus the usual spam in our email boxes.)
