Something’s Going Around

It’s confirmed. We’re all fighting something — the flu, or something akin to it. My brother has been fighting a fever and other symptoms, with Mom following close behind him in the symptom-progression. I, too, have finally realized that I’m fighting more than “just” one of my 48-72 hour killer headaches. And this evening, Justin arrived home reporting all the symptoms my brother, Mom and I have been experiencing. What a lovely little quartet of contagion we make! None of us seem to be sleeping well*, either.
*That is to say, we’re all sleeping worse than usual.

The annoying thing is that while none of us feel at all well, this Thing hasn’t hit us with the kind of whallop that forces you to immediately retreat into your cave and hibernate until your body seems inhabitable again. Instead, it just sneaks up on you, insidiously drawing energy and “good vibes” away from your body until you’re left wondering, “What the hell is going on!?”

I swear it would help if the weather could figure out what it’s doing. We had a couple freezing nights and cool days, followed by a 90 degree day and a long string of sunny, blue sky days — some blustery and some so calm you wonder if you’re in a life-sized diorama… <sigh>

Here’s hoping everyone, family and otherwise, starts feeling better soon!

(raises hand)… we’ve all got it here too, my mom, both sisters, and me. Nice to know we’re not an anomaly right now, but I hope you guys feel better soon!

Ugh! Sorry to hear your family is also a primary vector in this outbreak. It *does* feel strangely comforting to know we’re not suffering alone, however.

Here’s hoping all of our immune systems get the bug squashed ASAP.
