Far Out
Things not to read on Wikipedia when you’re sick and taking OTC cold remedies…
Why? Because they each seriously mess with your mind, that’s why! Deep thoughts are best reserved for when one isn’t sick, tired and a little loopy!
Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
- What is reality?
- What is anti-psychiatry? (Hint: It’s more than a glib “Tom Cruise” answer! ;))
- What is Scientology (this, alone, leads to a whole host of tangents!)
- What do I (probably not) know about the autistic community?
- What do I (probably not) know about electroconvulsive therapy?
These aren’t in the order I ran across them, nor are they the only places I wandered on Wikipedia, by the way. I’m also not implying a direct relationship between any/all of these, beyond the obvious — they all deal in some way with reality, perception, science/medicine (or pseudo-science, depending on your point of view), and belief (or disbelief, again depending on your point of view). Taken as a whole, though, they seriously mess with one’s mind — like taking part in an university-level philosophy course populated by people with terrific debate skills!
When sick and loopy, however, it’s all TMI — Too Much Input! I should have put the laptop away and just tried to fall asleep a couple hours ago. At least I’m not keeping Justin up with my computing tonight… he can’t seem to get to sleep, either!
