Happy New Year!

I’d been tucked in bed and sleeping soundly since 8 PM or so, still fighting off the ick.

Our neighbors hail from New York City, NY (and before that, Cuba), so it shouldn’t have surprised me that they lit a huge string of firecrackers 38 minutes ago as NYC ushered in 2006. We still have another 1.5 hours to go, here in San Antonio, Texas (Central Time Zone).

Waking up to firecrackers twenty feet from your bedroom window? Just a tad jarring, let’s say… :(

Justin’s playing World of Warcraft and I’m alternately sleeping or wishing I could sleep to escape the sinus pain and sore throat. What can I say, it’s not exactly a sexy way to usher in 2006; then again, a “sexy New Year” has never been our modus operandi.

Notable highlights (I’m forgetting a lot, and too sleepy to add links right now):
* My successful ACL reconstruction, rehab and recovery
* Justin’s first trip to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (the biggest airshow/aviation convention in the world), while writing for GA News
* Mom’s retirement
* Dad’s new job
* Two new Ford Mustangs (Dad’s 2005 “Torch Red” GT; my brother’s 2004 2005 “Sonic Blue” Mustang)
* Business revenue improved over last year, despite the surgery and rehab impact (among other things)
* Weight loss facilitated through mountain biking — though I’m very much in need to getting back in the saddle again on both counts (damn holidays! I’ve gained 5-8 pounds since November!)
* Wonderful trip to Washington, D.C. in October (still need to post photos!!!!!)
* 7th wedding anniversary, 32nd birthday

Not too shabby…

    Fixed, now! :)
