My Aching Wrists!

I’ve just spent the past 12 hours cataloging and organizing photos dating back to December 2004 (and I’m not done!) I am both amazed and appalled:
- Amazed at the diversity of our photos, and some of the terrific images we have both created;
- Appalled at the fact that so very few of those images have been shared anywhere, not the least of which is on our commercial photography website, OutdoorPhoto.com.

Even as I grumble and berate myself for the delays, I must come to my own “defense,” at least in part. I injured my knee in November 2004, and killed it in January 2005. As a result, I gave over most of 2005 to my knee — surgery, rehabilitation and a stepped up exercise regimen.

As physical therapy ended and I began to resume normal life again, I found myself drawn to new activities. With Justin — mountain biking and hiking with friends from work; with my family — celebrating my Mom’s retirement by visiting with her more often, and spending time with my father, and my brother (whose new job will soon be relocating him out of San Antonio.) I wouldn’t trade how I’ve spent that time. But that doesn’t negate the fact that I’ve handily avoided some of the tasks I least enjoy/most dread. I love our photographs, and I enjoy reliving the experiences and travels by reviewing our photos, but the sheer volume of them makes the task daunting, time-consuming, and literally painful (aggravating my wrist tenosynovitis.)

Anyway, you can look forward to many new photos, as there are indeed many I want to share!
