We still own and drive my 1992 Toyota Corolla, and I’ve long had a relationship with her that included stroking her ego now and then: “You’re still a good car,” so it’s only fair that after gloating about our new hybrid’s fuel economy I do the same with the Corolla:

Just ran the numbers after filling up the tank at Exxon this morning.

27.67 miles per gallon!

Not bad for 14-year-old technology and hardware, indeed. I swear it’s going to tear me up inside if we do decide to sell that car. She’s been so terrific. Right now I say I’m keeping her around to “rub off” on the 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid. “See the precedent you need to live up to?” 
Ok, so I’ve excessively anthropomorphized our vehicles. I’m a geek, it comes with the territory. When you consider how much time you’re in your vehicle, it makes sense, doesn’t it?
