Mom Update II
Been a little slow to update since it’s only when I get back home that I post.
Good news from yesterday (Tuesday) afternoon is that the doctors finally let Mom start on a “light liquid” diet. Definition? Cranberry juice. By the time I arrived yesterday, she’d chased that juice down with jello, clear broth and a coffee (decaf).
This morning (Wednesday), Mom graduated to a “full liquid” diet which includes things like pudding, creamy soups, etc.
Thomas is coming in from Austin for a couple days, so we’ll visit Mom together shortly after he arrives in town. I’m about to pack up my laptop and head over to Mom & Dad’s house to gather up some of the “Can you bring…” request items and await Thomas’ arrival.
Mom’s definitely in better spirits and at a more usual energy level — she’s working on crafts and sending various text pages to Dad and I for various “Can you bring…” requests. Per a message she sent me this morning, she may be released as early as sometime tomorrow (Thursday)!
She’s been in the hospital since Sunday night.
Still no real time or info to share on brother-in-law David’s ER and overnight hospital stay. He was released around 3PM on Monday, if I haven’t gotten my days completely mixed up (which is possible!) Short version is they couldn’t find anything wrong with his heart, but his blood pressure was most definitely on the dangerously high side and they have yet to determine what made it do that. He’ll need a full work-up by his general practitioner and go from there.
Justin and I? Doing fine. Our little (head)aches and (heartburn) pains are miniscule in the grand scheme of things!
