Major Geekage

The custom chrome license plate frames I’m running on our ‘06 Ford Escape Hybrid FWD (2WD):

(Flickr has the uncropped image.)

If you’re in need of a refresher on the etymology and meaning of grok, go here. If it helps, think of it as a takeoff on the “Got Milk?” ads.

More photos of the hybrid will be posted soon. After a two and a half day marathon to wash, clay bar and wax her, I had to take photos since she’ll probably not be this clean for a long time (my back, biceps, knees and wrist are killing me!)

Can you tell I love this vehicle? :)

To be honest, I religiously washed, detailed and periodically waxed our 1992 Toyota Corolla (and did so shortly after buying the Escape Hybrid, in fact, since the Corolla became Justin’s commuter car.) I get new vehicles so infrequently, you’re damned right I invest the time in keeping them looking as beautiful as the day they became mine. It seems to work, given that the ‘92 Corolla still gets compliments and if the headliner hadn’t bought the farm would pass as a vehicle 1/3 its age!

Oooh… if I were independently wealthy, I’d stash away a couple million dollars to have fun at that auction! (And a couple million probably wouldn’t be near enough… I cannot even afford to play on eBay!)
