Gotta Get Used to This
Woke up at 2 AM with heartburn and bad allergies — couldn’t get back to sleep. Surfed off and on between attempts to sleep until I finally got up shortly after 5 AM. Drove an hour or so to the 17th annual Siesta Valley Ranch Walk and walked/hiked 3 miles in the alternating 190% humidity and drizzle/rain. Ate way too much BBQ and carrot cake. Drove to Jack & Jerry’s house (Justin’s parents), but only after getting a Dr. Pepper float — silly pregnancy craving I could have done without, particularly since I was already dealing with heartburn during this morning’s ranch walk. Then overindulged on food again this evening, including of all things cheddar peppers (jalapeno peppers and cheese) — oh, yeah, that won’t exacerbate my heartburn! — and my allergies came back full force, in addition to heartburn and a headache. Wiped out by 8 PM.
Gotta get used to this frazzled feeling, ‘cuz life with an infant will be even harder!
Good news? Spending time with nieces Jillian and Kendal and nephews Eric and Tanner. Winning a free pair of shoes of my choice from SAS Shoemakers who host the Siesta Valley Ranch Walk each year.
