Geek Baby Girl Names (Kidding!)
Justin, my brother and I, started a silly but fun email thread a couple days ago — sharing geek girl names from Star Trek, Star Wars, The Matrix, and other geeky sources.
So far, here’s what we’ve traded so far:
(Kira) Nerise … Seven of Nine … Kess … Jadzia … Trinity … Leia … Ezri … Elphaba (from the Broadway musical, “Wicked“) … Deanna … Luxwana …
We’re not evil, but some of these are tempting in ways that are wholly unnatural!
For more, visit What to Name Your Baby Nerd.
(Ahem… We prefer “Geek”. Nerds are so 80’s!)

What, no Arwen or Galadriel?
As someone who grew up being teased mercilessly because of my relatively-uncommon name, I’m tempted to plead for normalcy on her behalf… but then I’m half of a geek couple that named their “girl” (cat) Typo, so… =)

I knew we were forgetting some more names!
We’ll exercise restraint. My favorite name of the bunch (Kira) I can’t use because in the past three years it’s been the name of: a laptop, an Apple iPod Nano, and now my Ford Escape Hybrid.

I think it should relate to “Sprout.” I’m just not sure “Bean” is a good choice?
