Favorite Children’s Books
Shortly after I discovered we’re having a baby, I splurged on a bunch of children’s books thanks to a $100+ Amazon.com gift certificate I’d been saving. The following is a list of all the books I picked up, and a couple that were given to me as Christmas or birthday gifts last year (yes, baby was on the brain, already!)
What are we missing? If you have a favorite children’s book that you don’t see listed here, chime in! We will soon start reading to our little girl, since anytime after about twenty weeks into pregnancy, the baby’s ears have matured enough that they can start hearing sounds from outside the womb. (She’s been subjected to hearing my voice for quite awhile already… poor thing!)

James And The Giant Peach and The Little Prince are musts, but my favourite of favourites will always be The Velveteen Rabbit. (And of course there’s always Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Alice In Wonderland etc [restraining myself from making a really long list here...] when she’s a bit older!)

Excellent suggestions!
Harry Potter, The Hobbit, and LoTR were already in our literary collection, but Alice in Wonderland is absent as are the three you linked. I can’t believe I forgot about The Velveteen Rabbit… that was a childhood fave of mine, too!

Growing up, my fave was The Monster at the End of this Book, but in college I discovered The Paperbag Princess by Robert Munsch, which I recommend to everyone who has a little girl.
