A Model, I Am Not…
…but a mother, I am soon to be. To mark my 31st week of pregnancy, Justin spent over an hour working with me and his new studio lighting setup to create some memorable pregnancy photos.
Any and all flaws or annoyances in the photo are due purely to the model, and not the photographer and his skill. I would never have photos even remotely like this taken, if not by my husband and soulmate of 18 years… (And, in the interest of full disclosure so folks don’t get weirded out — I am wearing nude-colored underwear. You will.never.see any nude photos of this body, ever, on GeekHabitat.com or elsewhere, and for that I believe we are all justifiably relieved and thankful!)

You would think being married for 25 years and having a couple children of my own would prevent me from being a tad bit embarrassed when seeing the photo above … it didn’t. Obviously you will not be having problem with ‘taking the position’ during delivery? As my father-in-law always says … “looking good.”

Hehe… and kudos also go to the photographer, and not the ‘model’. Justin did some artful cropping and post-processing, or even that frame wouldn’t have seen the light of day!
I’m as shy and body-conscious as they come, but something about photography transcends that somehow. That, and given what I’ve seen shared on Flickr in the pregnancy-related groups, I’m practically wearing a full-length fur coat, earmuffs and ski goggles.
Don’t expect any others in the series, though. If it weren’t for digital photography, nothing I’m in would ever be developed because every frame would have to leave the house to be processed by a photolab, and that’s not.gonna.happen!
(I should have thumbnailed the photo, though, just in case some poor soul/sod pulled this up at work or whatnot. /oops!)

This photo is magical! Without the need of any caption, it speaks volumes about the beauty and mysterious wonder of pregnancy. Kudos to model and photographer - and my love to all three of you!
