Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and moms-to-be out there!
We have had a nice, leisurely first Mother’s Day here in the Moore household. Sara and I slept in until some sinfully late hour, and loved every minute of it! We did miss our opportunity to walk around the neighborhood with Justin before it got too hot for comfort, but other than that I have no complaints! Guilt- and interruption-free Mom & new baby sleep wins hands-down over exercise, sometimes!
Thanks to Justin, I have some wonderful new scented goodies to enjoy during those precious moments we do make time for a “just for me” bath. Yes, I actually have managed several short but relaxing baths vs. giving Sara a bath (with me as a safety platform/life preserver) in 2-3 inches of water in our garden tub. By the time we’re done with her bath, the already lukewarm water is cold and I’ve collected enough cat fur and lint to require a full shower! Still, the rare bath requires some nice scented bubble bath, and I am now restocked and ready for the opportunity!
I also got another baby carrier I’ve had my eye on, this time a cute pink camo BabyHawk baby carrier that can be worn as a front -or- back carrier (the latter for older babies). This will be in addition to the Baby Bjorn “Air” carrier I have, since the sling I bought is a little tight and holds Sara so close to me we both end up sweating like pigs even on a short 1 to 1.5-mile walk.
Assorted cute cards, and a $25 Amazon.com gift certificate (”from” Sara — how’d she know?!), round out the first Mother’s Day loot I received, but really the best present was Sara happily sleeping in with me this morning, content to nurse in bed so Momma didn’t have to even sit up in bed and officially start her day. Sara’s also been sleeping like a pro the past several days (which is not to say she’s sleeping through the night, because she isn’t by a long shot!), which makes up for her fussiness in between… like now. I have a rescue operation to perform since she’s realized I pulled a fast one and put her down in her crib (where she still does not nap or sleep).
T’Care!
