One Step Back

Well, we haven’t graduated to the crib overnight yet. In fact, we’re still co-sleeping about 50% of each night and the rest of the time Sara sleeps in her bassinet by our bed. I think the smaller confines of the bassinet keep her cozier for now than the more spacious crib. In the crib, she’ll only sleep about 1.5 to 2 hours at a stretch; the bassinet has yielded 3 or 4 hours of sleep. This kiddo still likes to nurse throughout the night so we’re up late (midnight or later) and every 2 hours until at some point she sleeps for 3 or 4 straight hours ’til sun-up.

She’s gorgeous and laughing and interacting with her world a lot more, and her neck is getting so strong! She whips her neck around looking at things now, and fights to hold it up so she can get the best look at everything.

Addendum: Just to prove I haven’t entirely lost all my geek cred now that I’m a mom — I splurged and picked up an 8 GB ipod nano. My ol’ 4-gigger will go to a good home either locally or via eBay. Man, I’ve actually got a ton o’ crap to eBay or sell locally soon, including quite likely my ill-fitting mountain bike (I need one that fits a women’s body structure, but before that I’m probably getting a road bike instead.) eBaying a fully-assembled mountain bike would suck, so even though I’ve yet to use craigslist, there’s a first time for everything!

2nd gen (black). There were no 8 gigger 1st gen iPod nanos (max. was 4 GB). :) My old nano is a 1st gen. You interested? Someone Jus works with might be interested, as well.
Got a new P.I.E. connector to interface the nano with my hybrid, too — still no song titles/data on my car radio, but at least I can use the iPods controls -or- my stock radio to control the nano, now. My original interface took over the nano’s controls, meaning it was best left stuck in my center console out of sight. ‘Course now I’m struggling with a tasteful, cost effective and easily removable mounting solution for the nano in my vehicle. There’s a “ProClip” system, but no way am I paying $85+ in cost, taxes and shipping to buy a mounting system when my interface + charging system only cost a tad bit more than that!
