Day 47: Meet a Motor Moron!

Over six weeks of PT, and I’ve finally met an exercise that stumps me and the issue isn’t even with my knee! As my PT, Renee, good-naturedly put it today, I am what you’d call a “Motor Moron“. I have zero motor skills, at least not when the activity requires lateral movement of my body!

Sports Car Envy

My brother purchased a 2005 Ford Mustang recently, and I’ve been “mum” waiting for him to announce it in his blog, accompanied by some photos I took of his new baby. But I can’t wait any longer! :) Especially since my Dad is also buying an 05 Mustang (GT), but his is currently on order with a wait-time of 8 weeks.

Day 45: Right Back on Track

My PT session this morning went superbly, with no problems doing any of the exercises despite some lingering upper body pain. As soon as I began my PT session, the back pain that’s so easy to focus on when I’m sedentary (working at the computer, for example) fades to the background. Movement to get the circulation going, and a mental focus on something other than pain or discomfort, goes a long way!

Wee Geek Gal

Awww, I just popped in to to visit my favorite wee geek, Jillian Avery Moore (my niece), at her website. She’s working on her blog and wearing the ThinkGeek.com “geek in training” t-shirt I gave her for Christmas. I think the world still needs more geek gals, so I’ve been none-too-subtly “geekifying” Jillian whenever I can — not that she needs too much help, since her Mom and Dad (Karen and Jason) have strong geek genes of their own! I mean, c’mon, Jillian’s already leaps and bounds ahead of her peers — she has a frequently-updated website and she even takes her parents geocaching! ;)

Don’t Put Those Airs on Me!

I was mindlessly surfing Amazon Prime this evening, since Justin recently signed us up for their new expedited shipping features (against my better judgment, I might add!) I decided I’m a grown up now and ought to wear a nice watch. In truth, we all look at our status bar, cellphone, dashboard or wall more than our wrists. Be that as it may, we feel compelled to strap the time to our bodies anyway!

Day 43: Downtime

3 PM: I am feeling much better than I was on Friday. Although there’s still some lingering pain and tightness in my neck and lower back, it’s nothing like I dealt with the past couple days.

Lesson Learned: Sometimes, you really can overdo it!

8:30 PM: Okay, so perhaps I am a “human barometer” now. Just as I began feeling good enough to tell Justin I would fly to the coast with him tomorrow, my muscles and joints started hollering again. Then we looked outside and realized why — STORMY WEATHER!
