Geek’s Christmas

I agree with my brother, these are also my kind of Christmas decorations! The song is “Wizard in Winter” by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I tracked down the lighting display’s owner via Google, per his comments:

Here’s a video of my ‘04 display. [...] Anyway my display features about 16000 lights. 88 LOR channels. The MEGA tree has 4800 lights, the triangle in the middle has 22 trees of 300 each (6300 lights)

Unfortunately, I don’t think I (or my neighbors) would get much sleep with 100 million candlepower worth of lights blinking on and off in my yard, accompanied by a suitable outdoor sound system to ensure everyone knew just how much work had gone into syncronizing the lighting with music. ;)

Your Home on the Web

After far too many idle promises, I finally set up a Coppermine photo gallery for my parents at WakefieldManor.com, and a Wordpress blog for them at BlackburnDigest.com. The blog’s still sparse since Mom’s been busy uploading photos to the photo gallery, and the designs of both need personalizing once we find templates that suit their tastes better than the defaults I selected.

Welcome to your home on the web, Mom and Dad! Sorry it took me so damned long to do that for you, and I haven’t forgotten about the cookbook.

We love you both!

Knee Update

It’s time for a knee update since I’ve been posting a few messages on The Kneeboard this evening.

I am coming up on my one year anniversary (February 4, 2005) of my ACL reconstruction (hamstring autograft) and dual meniscus repair (bio-absorbable screw repair to lateral menisus, excision of 30-40% of my medial meniscus that was irreparable).

<ad>Time is Running Out!</ad>

All of my eBay auctions are closing in two to three days.

Either people hate the Dell Axim, or there’s going to be some insane bid sniping going on as that one winds down! :)

I have some more stuff to list, but given I’ve got 5 items to box and ship out in the same 36 hour timeframe, I’m waiting for this first round to finish. This round is all the items that I knew would sell well, particularly with the approaching holidays, and be relatively stress-free as no reserve auctions.

Oh, Come On Now!

Beam up to space delayed for Star Trek’s Scotty (actor James Doohan) while company Space Enterprises runs additional tests on its rockets’ engines.

If Scotty were assigned to the task, the rocket would launch on schedule and without incident, dammit!
