eBay, the Righter of All Wrongs

I love this auction copy (written by Brian Sack, self-described as “yet another actor/writer type.”) It’s too bad most geek gear can’t be sold with such compelling and entertaining eBay copy! ;)

eBay ad:

DKNY Men’s Leather Pants I Unfortunately Own
Stylish. Expensive. Very much a bad purchase for me.

P.S. If anyone ever doubts that it’s STILL all about content, content, content, then refer back to this eBay auction. Nearly 3 million pageviews for a pair of black leather pants hanging sadly on a clothes hanger. That, my friends, is the power of good content!

Paradoxes

This is the same 18-year-old that allegedly murdered his 14-year-old “girlfriend’s” parents and went on the run with her?! (Note: I don’t doubt he did, I’m just playing The Media{tm} role of referring to a criminal who’s not yet been tried and sentenced.)

Just goes to show you blogs and other computer-mediated communication only reveals what the writer wants to convey/how they want to be perceived, and no more than that.

eBay Listings

My first in a semi-long line of eBay listings has gone up –
30GB Apple iPod (3rd Gen), Dock + Leather Case & Extras — Original box + cassette & car adapter, belt clip & case

I also have the following items that will be listed in the next 1-2 days:

Damn

I need to buy new headphones, eventually. I’m getting tired of the big honking earmuff cheapo ones I usually wear when working on the computer. Tonight, I dug out a pair of small in-ear, but still cheapo, headphones I haven’t worn in ages. At least now I don’t have to turn my computer’s volume to full before I can actually get anything approaching an energizing aural experience… The only problem is the cats have bitten through the cord once already (taped with electrical tape), and there’s a new hole I haven’t patched yet, oh and the cord’s too short and keeps treatening to strangle me.

Life, Rewound

Rewinding my mental data tapes just long enough to jot down all the things I’ve failed to blog but have photos and/or anecdotes to share about:

* Our Washington, D.C. & environs trip — lots of photos that deserve sharing here, and {shuffling uncomfortably} also on our much-in-need-up-feeding photography website.

* Flying with Mom to Fredericksburg, TX for lunch at the Airport Diner and a quick tour of the Hangar Hotel (where Justin and I booked a couple nights for our upcoming 7-year wedding anniversary / 17 years together [can we really already be old enough to say that... yikes!]

Am I Still a Geek

… if I can’t keep my blog updated?

Actually, I guess that’s backwards, isn’t it? Real geeks don’t keep their blogs up-to-date, at least not on any predictable schedule.

Uhm, yeah, I’m not buying that either.
