Like Skunk, Ass First

“…and a fun thing where you burp a lot and the burps taste like you have been eating a skunk, ass first.”
– From Breakfast With Rob

If you haven’t migrated with the rest of the herd over to My Beloved Monster and Me, you need to, or you’ll continue to miss gems like the above. You’re also missing adorable photos of Schuyler (pronounced Sky- lur).

Added Later: While I’m shilling for blogs I read daily, you really need to start reading Waiter Rant daily. Pure gold, I tell you! And you thought you had to put up with asshats at your workplace!

Geek Heaven

I have wandered into it on a few occasions, but I just realized Memory Alpha is a Star Trek-specific version of Wikipedia. {woot!} More pure geekage! I even got to add something to it. While listening to the audiobook, Star Trek Voyager: “Mosaic” (narrated by Kate Mulgrew), I encountered the word vulky. A quick search brought me to Memory Alpha’s entry:
Vulky: adj., meaning “boring”

If Video Doesn’t Work in Firefox

I’ve had an annoying glitch on my desktop computer ever since I got it — I couldn’t watch any video on CNN.com and some other websites.

Finally took the time to locate & implement a solution. Voila, CNN can now numb my mind further through videos rather than just “Breaking News” headlines. ;)

Too Effin’ Hot!

Just for the record, it’s too damned hot here. Ok? Just read this entry daily, as it will be accurate until, oh, Halloween, at the very least!

sigh…

This isn’t summer. This season is known as the “Remind me again, WHY in the HELL do we live in Texas?” season.

SUV Rotisserie

Torch My Ride — SUV arson on the rise with gas prices.

Vehicle arson has had a long and occasionally humorous track record over the years. In Texas, a car salesman was arrested after offering his customers what he called a “rotisserie program.” He would have their cars torched; then, after they collected on the insurance, he sold them a new car. In another part of the state, two students were arrested after they torched their high school teacher’s car in exchange for passing grades. — CNN

Major Geekage

The custom chrome license plate frames I’m running on our ‘06 Ford Escape Hybrid FWD (2WD):

(Flickr has the uncropped image.)

If you’re in need of a refresher on the etymology and meaning of grok, go here. If it helps, think of it as a takeoff on the “Got Milk?” ads.

More photos of the hybrid will be posted soon. After a two and a half day marathon to wash, clay bar and wax her, I had to take photos since she’ll probably not be this clean for a long time (my back, biceps, knees and wrist are killing me!)
