Going’s-On

I’m feeling sparse with words (all evidence to the contrary), and a little hormonal/unbalanced lately, so here’s a simple recap of what’s going on or coming up in our world:

TOMORROW, AFTER WORK: Jus and I are attending an hour-long tour of San Antonio’s Methodist Hospital to familiarize ourselves with their L&D (Labor & Delivery) facilities, nursery, postpartum rooms, cafeterias, etc. My OB’s office is roughly within walking distance of the hospital, but the last time either of us were in the hospital itself, our 9-year-old niece had just been born! Actually, that’s not true — cousin Joey’s heart attack last May gave us a first glimpse into the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) of the hospital, and that’s the freshest one in our minds right now.

No Words

There are no words adequate to express the loss of a loved one…
Please send your thoughts, positive energies and/or prayers to my long-time online friend, Noah Grey, who is grieving the loss of his beloved — Barry Tumbleton.

I am so sorry, Noah.

No More Purple!

So far, I’ve got one coat of primer paint on both the purple walls in Sprout’s nursery, and it already looks a lot better and brighter. (Yes, Justin offered to help… as did Mom, who has no business being on a ladder or overworking her wrists more than her miniature and crafting habits allow!)

I’m a sloppy painter, so I’ll have to clean up the corners and window frame on my second pass, and it looks like I’ve committed to painting the ceiling, too! (Kind of planned on it… the ceiling has the smallest surface area, anyway, so how bad can it be? ;))

Picture Share / Painting Prep

Just some quick “documentary” snapshots from my new Canon Powershot A640 of my expanding baby belly, and today’s painting preparations on Sprout’s nursery:

32.4 Week OB Checkup

I visited my OB this morning for our 32 week check-up, and all is well. We chatted about the contractions I had Monday, and so far it’s par for the course (although not everyone has painful Braxton-Hicks contractions.) If I have more frequent painful ones (eg. six or more in an hour/every ten minutes or less) I should definitely call the OB’s office, which I assumed as much. I’d have been calling her on Monday if the contractions hadn’t stopped after two contrax over thirty-five minutes or so. As for the overall, generalized crampy feeling I have more often than not now? Welcome to mid-late pregnancy!

Latent Criminal Intent?

From the talk page of Lisa Nowak’s Wikipedia entry, which is quite active in light of recent news/events:

…This is a big docking scandal for NASA, a public relations and recruiting disaster. Can one imagine what might have happened had she done something like this during a long mission? Like to Mars? This could cause some rethinking of the whole manned space program (which is already under fire) and as they say, no bucks, no Buck Rogers. Gwen Gale 20:48, 6 February 2007 (UTC)

My response? (reposted from Wikipedia, with minor edits for clarity) –
