Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and moms-to-be out there!

We have had a nice, leisurely first Mother’s Day here in the Moore household. Sara and I slept in until some sinfully late hour, and loved every minute of it! We did miss our opportunity to walk around the neighborhood with Justin before it got too hot for comfort, but other than that I have no complaints! Guilt- and interruption-free Mom & new baby sleep wins hands-down over exercise, sometimes!

Know Thy Customer

I hate the U.S. Postal Service… but not as much as I hate online retailers who require signature on delivery for items/orders of limited monetary value (let’s say, under $50.00). As you might imagine, I do quite a bit of my shopping online, and with Sara around that’s doubly true now. I order everything from bras and baby gear to office supplies and geek gear (GPS units, cameras, etc.) online. I’m fine with having to sign for high dollar items, like a professional digital camera (over $1,500) or a new MacBook laptop. However, I absolutely go into fits when I have to sign for a single cable (as Apple.com has forced me to do before) or a $30 pair of bicycle shorts.

Sprout Update

At my mom’s request, I have posted some new photos of Sara in our Flickr gallery Sara (1 - 2 Months). There will be more photos to follow, of course, but considering these are the first photos I’ve posted since she was born, I consider this a major success. (The credit all goes to Justin for us even having any Sara photos on Flickr up until this point! I just have not been able to select, process and upload them in between Sara’s nursing sessions… until today.)

Random Musings of a New Mom

I have started taking Sara on very short (1 to 1.5 mile) walks in our neighborhood and the greenbelt in my parents’ subdivision. I try to do it every weekday, but I don’t have a perfect record (for instance, I’ve slacked this week.) The plan is to also get a longer walk in with Justin on the weekends, but so far our weekends have been quite busy with visitors, portrait photography sessions, errands, etc.

Added Later… Here are the GPS tracklogs from our walks so far:
